Humanity, beginning with Adam and Eve, was created to reflect God’s image, have authority over the earth, reproduce offspring, and display God’s glory and love. The Garden of Eden was perfectly created, where hardship or evil was not known. Life was pure and peaceful; the day ended with face-to-face walks with God.
Adam and Eve had access to everything in the garden, but were told not to do one thing: eat from the “Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil.” He wanted to protect them and us from carrying what our human heart was never meant to carry, which is the knowledge of evil.
